WHAT REEL DOES

Reel recommends independent creative work. Any medium. You tell Reel what you're looking for, Reel digs through what it knows, and comes back with artists and directions to where their work lives. Reel does not sell anything, stream anything, or host any content. Reel links outward. That's it.

LINKS GO ELSEWHERE

Every link Reel provides points somewhere else. Artist sites, label pages, storefronts, streaming platforms. Analog Obscure does not control those sites, their content, their availability, or their accuracy. Some links will break. Some will be wrong. If a link doesn't work, the artist name and description should give you enough to find the work on your own. They're out there.

NO GUARANTEES

Recommendations are generated by AI based on what you give it. Reel can be wrong. Reel can miss what you were looking for. Reel can occasionally surface something inaccurate. Analog Obscure makes no guarantees about the quality, accuracy, or completeness of any recommendation.

YOUR DATA

Analog Obscure does not collect personal data, create user profiles, require accounts, or track behavior.

Your conversations with Reel are not stored. What you type, what Reel says back, none of it is logged or saved. When Reel responds, the artist names from its recommendations are added to an internal catalog that helps improve the service. No user information is attached to those entries. The catalog contains artist names and links, nothing about you.

When Reel responds, the site makes lookups to external music services to verify artist information and find accurate links. Nothing from those lookups is stored. They exist to make Reel's recommendations more useful and then they're gone.

We run cookieless, privacy-safe analytics to see how the site is used in aggregate. No personal information. No tracking across sites. Just page views and basic usage data with no way to identify anyone.

YOUR CRATE

If you save artists using the KEEP button, that list is stored on your device. When you ask Reel for recommendations, the artist names in your crate are sent with your request so Reel can avoid repeating itself. Those names are not stored, logged, or used for anything else. Clear your crate anytime.

When you hit KEEP, the artist name is counted anonymously in aggregate. No user information is attached. We use this to see which recommendations land across all visitors. That is it.

THE BOARD

The Board is an anonymous bulletin board. Your pins are stored so they can be displayed. Your IP address is hashed for rate limiting. Hashed means we cannot see your actual IP. We do not know who you are. Pins are filtered for content before they post. Analog Obscure reserves the right to remove any pin for any reason.

BUILT FOR ADULTS

Some of the work Reel recommends deals with difficult, intense, or mature subject matter. Analog Obscure is intended for adult use.

Analog Obscure is provided as-is. By using the site, you acknowledge that recommendations are AI-generated, links point to external sites outside our control, and the experience comes without warranty of any kind.

These terms may be updated. Continued use of the site means you accept the current terms.

We're saying all this because it's true, but also because there are assholes out there that just want to sue someone. If you're one of those assholes, talk to Reel. Maybe you'll find something that will make you a better person.
